Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage all commercial concepts, practices, and procedures from project commencement through to completion.
The Role
Working closely with the project team, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders, you will play a critical role in establishing the cost and contract management process for new projects including subcontract agreement formation, assessing payment claims and variations, enforcing adherence to contractual terms and risk management.

The Role
Working closely with the project team, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders, you will play a critical role in establishing the cost and contract management process for new projects including subcontract agreement formation, assessing payment claims and variations, enforcing adherence to contractual terms and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring adherence to contract terms and conditions and managing risk protection
- Managing project documentation, preparing financial reports (progress claims, final accounts, labour analysis), and overseeing procurement, cash flow, and project changes.
- Establishing procurement plans, negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Managing subcontractor payments, and tracking contract instructions and charges.
- Developing and managing project budgets, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
- Monitoring financial performance and approving project expenditure invoices.
- Managing risks and resolving problems as they arise.
- Providing monthly cost reports and accurate cost forecasts.
- Overseeing the project team to achieve all financial deliverables.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Quantity Surveying on large commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of NZS 3910 contracts.
- In depth knowledge of best practice behaviours for contract formation and management.
- Experienced in managing claims and disputes effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
